Support Camp Free to Be
Support connection, healing, and joy for BIPOC youth!

The mission of our Camp Free to Be is to bring youth of color into nature and provide opportunities for connection, healing and joy. Our camp will serve 30-40 Vermont youth for five days of sleeping in cabins, art, music, swimming, nature, crafting, healing circles, connection, conversation, laughs, joy and learning about ourselves and each other. The camp takes place in western central Vermont. Check out this video from last year to learn directly from youth about why camp matters. Youth from last year's camp shared what they would tell other BIPOC youth about the camp:
- “There are lots of people who are welcoming and accepting and you won't feel alone.” -camper
- “This camp really helped me in so many ways and made me feel like myself again.“ -camper
- “[Camp] is such an amazing place to feel connected to others and belong in a group. The food is also really good too.” -camper
- “This is something you need to experience in your life and you will make many memories.” -camper
Camp is highly subsidiexed to make it accessible for youth of all economic backgrounds with 80% of youth paying $100 or less to attend. Camp costs $1,000 per youth (not including EdJ staff salaries and benefits), so we are raising funds for 35 youth to attend camp.
